Craig Newman

Founder/ Director

My career began when I directed my sisters' audition for Star Search in 1991. Since then I've directed actors, dancers, non-professionals, kids, adults - you name it. After working for production companies and fusion agencies, I went solo, which means I learned to build teams to get the job done. And those teams aren't complete without our client. That's why at C/CO, we understand what Star Search never could: working together is success.

Copywriter

I grew up in Florida. Everything you’ve heard is true. After ad school, I ended up in San Francisco. That’s when I realized, California is where crazy goes. It quickly became my second home. For the past 16 years, I've been a copywriter and creative director, working with Fortune 500 companies, Hollywood studios and a variety of household names. Copywriting is all about how to keep it lean and punchy. Those are pretty good ingredients for a creative production team, too.

When the Pentagon needs an editor, they contact me. Seriously. I've edited campaigns for nonprofits, and worked for George Bush and Bill Clinton. When you work for big companies a.k.a. the American government, you have to keep track of all the details. That means I'm also a project manager, a team player, a friend of the client and a general whiz at making everyone else's mistakes seem like happy accidents. Maybe that's why the big dogs keep calling.

Director of Photography

People always say I'm a doer. I was a professional hockey player in Canada before I travelled the world as a professional dancer. Today, I'm experienced in lensing commercials, feature documentaries and television. I love using the science of light to share what I see. Whether it's NHL players gliding on the ice, or the Rockettes stamping on the stage, I create powerful, beautiful, moving images. That’s what I do.

Alex Kaplan

Producer

I'm a people person, like the poster child people person. While I’ve worked in the production of branded content, commercials and scripted narrative for nearly a decade, it's the relationships that keep me coming back. I helped build a leading regional production company in the Philadelphia area, taking the company from four people to eighteen strong, developing clients and partnerships, while also managing development and creative production. Did I say I'm a people person?
